Wow friends and family with this dynamic digital photo frame! I was replacing a Phillips frame I was very happy with for years. It got knocked off the table & broke. The new one, Mod SPF3482 is poor & hard to use. Its processor is very slow & it is impossible to copy & manage photos.
I have been able to set up date, time; and can play my photos from my camera chip ONLY. I am very familiar with computers, but this is impossible. It may be the product or it may be the instructions, but I can not make it work. I called the phone number on line for support, but it disconnected after an hour + 20 minutes. I wrote to their email, also found on line, but have not had a reply in 6 days.
The instruction manual does not give any contacts for help. I am going to return it to end my frustration.
Before operating this unit, please read this manual thoroughly and retain it for future reference. May influence the picture of this digital photo frame.
It's not Rocket Science. Digital frames only come with so much memory, so to avoid changing sizes, removing pics, etc., all I did was load my pictures on a flash drive, plugged it in and off I went. The photos pull directly from the flash drive and cycle through beautifully. Then, whenever I have new photos to add, I just take the flash drive, add the photos, plug it back in and boom.new pictures have been added to the library of pics I already have.
I also like that there is a timing setting.I have it set to turn off in the evening and turn back on in the morning. Therefore, I don't have to worry about remembering to turn it on/off.it does it for me.
In fact, I came back to this item b/c I'm ordering one for my mom.
I purchased this frame as a gift for my daughters' grandparents. The quality of the photos, once loaded, is great and the size is right.
Very easy to set up the frame to get started-simply plug and go. Not as easy to load photos. After following the instructions in the quick start guide with no success, I went to the online help guide and was able to figure out how to do it.
I also could not get nearly as many photos loaded as it supposedly holds; however, this may have been my lack of expertise with this kind of stuff. I probably could have figured everything out eventually but I was pressed for time and simply loaded the number of pictures I could get on easily. I would recommend this frame. I price-shopped and it seemed a good value for the money.
Also, it is recommended by Consumer Reports. I had been looking for a photo frame for some time. After reading reviews on this Pandigital 7' frame I decided this was the one. The clarity and viewing angles on the frame are very good, colors seem true.
I loaded a 16gb card with all my pictures and it runs through them flawlessly. The one downside so far is the scheduler does not work. I've set the start and stop times and turned it on, but the frame runs past the sleep time set. I have to turn the device off/on manually, which isn't terrible. The ease of use is also terrific. All I did was copy the pictures from my PC to the memory card, installed the card in the frames card reader, turned it on and the slideshow started. Can't ask for anything easier.
I also like that the frame is removable so it takes up less space on the shelf. It gives the frame a more contemporary look doing this. I bought this for my 82 year old mom who gets flustered with microwaves and cell phones. Once images are loaded, just turn on and it goes into slide show, that's all she has to do. Organize the pics you want on your puter or just slide in memory card to upload to frame. Screen resolution is great, 7' size is fine, menus are quirky but if you can transfer images from your camera to puter, you can do this, just follow instruction book. You can even transfer MP3 music to play during slide show, and 1GB of memory equals lots of pics and songs.
Getting on sale at $60 at Walmart in 11/2010 was a bonus.
